DNF halfway through chapter 2. I thought I was gonna enjoy this series more but I found I truly just don’t care and this one particular middle grade series just isn’t for me.

Good fun! My biggest complain about the previous book in this series is that we didn’t really get a lot of Artemis — even though he’s the titular character, he felt like a side character in the first book — so I was really happy that he was so much more involved in book two. Artemis is a fantastic character, so it was great to have him more involved and actually getting his hands dirty.

I really loved the direct interaction between the fairy people and the ‘mud people’ in this book. It was pretty easy to anticipate that after the events of book one, Artemis and the fairy people would eventually become allies, if not friends, but I enjoyed reading the gradual development of rapport between the two even if it was a bit predictable. This is a kid’s series, after all, and I’m a lot more intelligent and have read a lot more books than the demographic at which this book is targeted, so I can’t really complain if I, an adult, find this children’s book predictable.

The adventure never stops in Artemis Fowl. I’m excited to continue with the rest of this series and see how Artemis’ character develops.

brb adding artemis to the list of fictional characters whom i refer to as my son

Eshte nje liber i mrekullueshem plot me emocione dhe mistere te hatashme. Me pelqen shume se si jane te pershkruara gjendjet emocional te Artemisit dhe ndonese ai shfaqet si nje njeri i ftohte, kam arritur te kuptoj me shume nga bota e ketij personazhi. Eshte nje liber qe ia vlen te lexohet.
