The Accidental Dragon, Accidentals #9, by Dakota Cassidy
Grade: B+

McAllister “Mick” Malone has spent years trying to protect his late best friend’s sister and repress his feelings for her. After swallowing what he thought was aspirin, Mick finds himself with wings and accidentally setting Tessa’s antique shop on fire and of course it’s all Tessa’s fault. Not long after Tessa is spewing fire back at Mick but luckily the O.O.P.s ladies are on vacation and ready to help with the newest paranormals. Tessa and Mick find themselves in a whole new world of vampires, zombies and werewolves all while trying to figure out their new wings, their feelings for one another and staying alive.

I love this series so much and it is one of the few that makes me laugh out loud. In this installment we get to see all of the old characters as well as our new dragons Tessa and Mick. I really loved these two and loved that they had such a strong and colorful history together. Tessa is really fun and she sure knows how to get under Mick’s skin, in more ways than one. Mick was a bonehead at times but he was also so sweet and I loved how he was with Tessa.

Once again Nina steals the show and she is by far my favorite vampire to read about. She delivers all of the best lines and keeps the book from getting too dark at times. I cannot say enough good things about this series and I really can’t wait to see what happens next in this wild and crazy paranormal world.

Wasn't really into the story maybe someday I could read another book series from the series

The fact that Tessa and Mick took almost half the book to accept or believe what Nina and the others were telling them really irked me.

Another great story in the Accidentals series. I accidentally (heh) read out of order because I couldn't remember what number I was on while at the library. I'll go back and get the right one this time. But I still love this series and Cassidy for writing it <3.

This series is a fun urban fantasy series where each book centers on someone who accidentally becomes a paranormal being. I've only read one other (the one with the genie) and I remember enjoying it so I picked this one up. The story itself is pretty stupid. A guy becomes a dragon without knowing why and his love interest conveniently does to. These two characters started out as annoying me with their constant childish fighting. I was worried it was going to be like that through most of the book. But they grew on me by the end. The story was way out there and if I had taken it seriously at all, I probably would have hated this book. Luckily, I didn't.

Nina stole the show for me. She was hilarious and the creativity of her potty mouth cracked me up. The main character, Tessa, even became funnier for me towards the end. I do like the dynamic of all the characters, however, if you haven't read the other books, you don't really know who anyone is. I think this is one where it would be better to read them in order. Regardless, this started off as a story that I just thought was bad. And it was to a point. But the dynamic of the characters and well, Nina, saved the day. I seriously love her.

I will probably read more from this series and I would recommend for someone who wants some light-hearted urban fantasy. :)

Reread? Probably

Not sure why - but not really my type of book. I had high hopes with the average being 4 stars.
