The story was decent. Although I don’t really care about the characters enough to continue on with the series. I also didn’t like how the story was in 3rd person, yet the internalized thoughts were in 1st person. I need the consistency of one POV. This also felt really long, and I feel like it does not need to be a series. Overall not a bad pirate romance.

If grammatical errors bother you greatly, then skip this book. There aren’t a ton, but enough to notice.

I really wanted to like the book, and I loved the premise and the whole concept, but I felt like the story was choppy and straight up confusing at places. I couldn't really understand half of the scenes due to the abundance of pronouns. When you have four male characters in the scene, a random 'he' will give me nothing.

I would love to read a book with a similar plot, but the author was not eloquent enough to keep me interested., which is truly a shame, I really wanted to get into the book.

last book i read the fmc read lots of pirate romance books so i thought i’d try one. i’m not sure that it’s for me, not sure if it’s the writing in this book specifically or the genre overall.  Part way through i did get quite into the plot esp her backstory and mainly kept reading for that (however i find fight scenes in books confusing to follow and the smut wasn’t really for me)  the ending  made me cry i just wanted him to find his daughter
