I so wanted to give this 4 stars! I just wasn't in the mood to read it and for that I had to give it 3. It was probably the darkest Shakespeare play I've ever read, which unsettled me a little. I also thought it was a little far-fetched, but then again it is a Shakespeare play! One thing I really enjoyed about this was the character list. There wasn't too many characters which made understanding the play a lot easier. Plays with A LOT of characters in really annoy me 'cause I always get lost and confused.

Yes. So much yes! This Tragedy had so much good plot building in it. I enjoyed how fast paced it is and there are a lot of quotable sections

I listened to the audiobook and it was fantastic. Race relations were interesting, and Iago was a compelling character.

3.5 stars... It's been a while since I have read a story with such a mean and heartless villain as Iago! And also, it's been a LONG while since I've read about a more naive hero than Othello. The big upside in this is that both Desdemona and Emilia are portrayed as quite strong and sure of themselves.
