I mean, damn, if you put the (probably intended?) raunchy misogyny to the side, this is so damn funny.

What I’m wondering though if this is some accidentally hilariously horny comic or if the comic tried to be comically dirty to the point of just being funny. Like…a Meta self-parody or something. Maybe it’s both.

I gotta be honest, this was hilarious, but SERIOUSLY horny. Sheesh!

I really enjoyed this. Turns superheroes on their heads. Sometimes literally.

This was a difficult one for me to rate. I absolutely hated how this volume of comics started out with Empowered being the COMPLETE opposite of her superhero name (the whole reason I picked up this title in the first place)-- she was passive, weak, lacked self-confidence. As the story goes on she gains confidence, but it seems to only be because of a man taking interest in her and building her up. Plus-- they call this super hot super chick fat/chubby throughout the volume... seriously?! It was not all negative as it kept me reading, but it was not what I was hoping and expecting it to be! This is my personal opinion of course!

I don't know. I'm not really sure how to take this book. I think I realize the author and artist is being ironic. I think. The whole tying up and gagging thing is kind of "ew". And, as we get later in the book it seems like he is trying to make a point. But when it starts out, it just seems gratuitous. The book is kind of manga-ish, which I am not really used to, so it was interesting to read the different form. But I'm still struggling with how to take the stories. Ist it feminist? Anti-feminist?

However, I do like superhero stories that don't fit the mold of the regular superheroes fighting bad guys. But I still can't decide if this serious issues it seems to be tackling, like body issues and degradation of women are just excuses for a sexy superhero whose costume is constantly ripped off, and is constantly tied up.

I love the art but the story just isn't there yet.
