And we get our first real glimpse at how dark this series is going to get with full on body horror, possession from the perspective of the unwilling host.

this one is a real nail-biter! for the first time, I couldn't easily predict the plot points/twists, and it was enthralling. the lore we learn in this episode adds interesting layers of complexity to the main conflict.
excellent narration as usual.

This one felt shorter and less interesting than the others. Ye it is important because Jake becomes a controller but its all resolved a little too cleanly.

A lot of things develop in this one. I'm still not too big of a fan of Jake as a character- he's still a bit one note to me, but we do get to see why the others default to him as the leader. He's steadfast and willing to do what it takes to get the job done. While that part of him is what makes him bland to me, I do see how it makes him so reliable. There's build up for a lot of intense scenes up ahead as they discover some plans the Yeerks have, and I'm looking forward to it.
