A fun little spy novel but I prefer sheckleys science fiction short stories

Utterly ridiculous. I still prefer Condorman, the film loosely inspired by this book, but it's a fun piece of brain candy

Fun, fast-paced book. Funny in a way. Not too memorable really.

Loved it! It skewers the super-spy genre and explores identity and human nature from a humorous perspective.

I love this book. It's my second reading, and I may be reading it again this year. As the basis for the movie "Condorman" by Disney from the early 80's, I was drawn to reading this initially- and Sheckley's subtle humor and spy-spoof genre is pure delight. It's a wonderful short gas reading this (and finding it on Audible too!). Agent X isn't supposed to be an agent- he doesn't even have valuable skills- but he's quick on his feet when it comes to near death situations. And with a lot of luck, he's able to get through some close shaves. One is left almost wishing there were sequels, but this works so well as a one-off and enjoys some fun location traveling and plenty of wacky scenarios and villains to satisfy all spy fans.
