I said that the book didn’t have a diverse cast because there is only one character who has darker skin as far as I can remember and that was mentioned once when she was introduced and then never again. This always feels to me like a tactic white authors use to add “diversity” without actually representing marginalized communities.
I thought the moral quandaries in the book were very interesting and well flushed out, and though the conclusions the characters reached were different from my opinions/politics, I understood where they were coming from and totally understood why everything played out as it did without feeling cheated or like the author skipped some big part of the moral quandary to bring her point home.
Minor: Sexual assault and Sexual violence
There was a minor (as in brief) scene in which a character was worried she was going to be sexually assaulted but was not.
