Just finished my reread of this book and I loved it just as much, if not more than the first time. 
I loved revisiting this book because it allowed me to notice things I didn’t the first time I read it and also it reminded me of everything that happened and details I had forgotten. 
This book will always be a favorite of mine.
I’m so stoked to read Defend The Dawn!

I loved this! Great character development and plot. Once I started I didn’t want to stop. I was immediately invested even through the world building. 


The story highlights that life is not always as simple as good vs. bad.

Great world building did sort of expect the ending though. There was a plot twist in the beginning that I would have never expected.

This was so addicting. I love Kemmerer's fantasy books just as much as her contemporary books!

Look no one was confirmed queer yet, but a man made eyes at another man and I HAVE SUSPICIONS!! I will sink with this ship.

Rep: white female MC, white male MC, cast of biracial and BIPOC supporting characters (no ethnicity implied since it's fantasy countries).
