This book was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ and I absolutely loved it. It was so steamy and  passionate. I quickly fell in love with Ryat. I will say, it’s kinda sexist/misogynistic but that’s part of the plot in the dark romance? I would def check triggers but 10/10 loved this book!

It's not a bad book. The events just hit me closer to home than I thought they would. There's nothing wrong with the book, it was entirely personal.

Absolute brain rot. The writing felt like a horny highschool Wattpad submission. Nothing that should warrant a multiple book series…

Nope. Just nope. From the first pages, the MC are not intersting. He is just a sadist and she is stupid. I like my SMUT to have some attraction between the MC and consentment. He firs  abuses her when she's drunk (rape in my book) and when she's drugged. Then she decide to belong to him.

"I’d go to war for my wife. One man was nothing."

and go to war they did; just, not the kind he expected.

wtf was this book? why did they build up a good plot only for it to suck so bad in the end? WHY DID SHE KEEP TAKE THE DRUGS WILLINGLY?! why did they take (approximately) 1000 showers?

force sex fantasy and CNC but not one conversation about limits or safe words, GHB fed to her every 5 seconds, fucking next to dead bodies, secret society plotline barely touched, FMC having just about no personality, obsessed ex bf who didn't want her when they were together but now wants her because his enemy has her, random elopement so she doesnt have to be forced into marriage to said ex bf. it just keeps going

I love dark romances, especially CNC/FSF but this wasn't it. this book didn't need to be 600 pages.

Don’t get me wrong, this book and the world it sets up is TOXIC, but I was completely caught in a trance and wanting more! If you think about this book in the realm of reality then you will likely be too distracted by the misogyny, entitlement, violence, and overall red flags of our MMC, and respective red flags of the FMC for being so attracted to it all, but if you can separate it then you might just find yourself having some fun. One of those “it couldn't be me,” but a thrill ride to read.

i tend to be wary of secret societies in books as they’re often incorporated into college or high school settings which kinda feels ridiculous because omg all of the characters are just kids !! knowing this, i intentionally attempted to go into this book with an open mind and yet it still felt soooo silly to me and the characters just came across as dumb as much of their behavior made little sense. i definitely liked the first half of the book way better than the last half mainly because as the author tried to wrap everything up and explain all of the mysteries that had been perpetuated throughout the book, the final acts and explanations for everything just felt somehow lackluster and absurd at the same time. also given that this book is classified as erotica i want to comment on the sex scenes. there were a lot of intriguing kinks in here that were fun to read but i felt like the sex scenes were not really detailed or long enough to be that great. some scenes were definitely more involved and better than others but i kinda finished this book feeling underwhelmed by the sex scenes. i loved ryat’s response to blakely’s feelings of shame regarding her kinks. i think the amount of sex that it is implied the two main characters have throughout the book is concerning lol but i guess given that none of this book is very realistic, the preposterous amount of sex these characters are said to have is on brand. overall i guess i’m glad it be in the loop about this book since a lot of people have read this book and have things to say about it, but i definitely won’t be reading other works by this author.
