Nice sweet YA fantasy-romance. Second in the series I have read. Good fun.

There's so much action and genuinely a great series. Eagerly continuing on reading. Plus for it all being available on unlimited so I can binge read the series.

I'd read the first in the series [b:Born of Water|40534267|Born of Water (Elemental Origins, #1)|A.L. Knorr|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1529079553l/40534267._SY75_.jpg|53928928] and really liked it. I didn't feel the need to continue on with the series immediately, as I could tell these first few stories would be more individual (happening concurrently rather than picking up where the last left off) AND I owned the next two (picked up on Kindle sales) and any subscription/library book tends to take priority. But when I needed a quick read, I jumped back in to this world.

We'd been introduced to four friends in the first book, all who go their separate ways during the summer. The first girl ends up a mermaid, which is not totally unexpected, as her mother is one. Here, the "fire" comes out of the blue, and I thought it unbelievable (as Saxony herself did) that the parents hadn't warned her that one of the kids in her care was quite sickly and didn't speak. Really? This wouldn't be covered when hiring an au pair for said child? There was also no reason (other than to forward the story) for said child to connect with Saxony.

So this whole story just didn't really work for me, it was just okay. I didn't connect with the characters or care much what happened to them. I will probably continue on with the series though.

It's a very nice story and I really like the protagonist. She seams very human and that's cool.
It's nothing special but light reading and especially nice as the majority plays in Venice. Can't wait for her storyline to continue :)

Explosive!!!

Another great story in this series by A.L. Knorr. I can really relate to Saxony. The description of her fire within is reminiscent of my regular hot flashes...! All joking aside, I can't wait to see what happens next... when the girls finally meet up, and share stories of their summer. It's all heating up!

Another great book in the Elemental Origins series

This second full novel really lit a fire under me and I read it in less than 12 hours (including some sleep time in there 😄)! The element of fire envelopes Saxony’s life and hi-jacks her trip to Italy. She is pursued by 2 hotties that couldn’t be more different! She also learns that true strength is tempered in flame and sets foot on her new destiny, leaving me wanting to know what is going to happen next. Fortunately, she has a novella set in her near future so I’m off to read it now!
