I was not expecting the twist at the end at all!!
Also was weird to realize Sanderson teaches at BYU… that’s definitely a choice 👀

anyway, this was a great book! i definitely could've read it as a standalone and i would've probably been satisfied, so if you're interested in starting brando sando this is a great place to start!
the action and the magic system was intriguing and exciting, and the characters each had distinct personalities. one small thing that i noticed however, was that i didn't feel very emotionally connected to the characters. sure, i liked them, but i didn't love LOVE them. i've noticed that sanderson's writing isn't very emotional, so that's probably why there wasn't a connection.
either way, i'd definitely recommend this book if it's up your alley 🪙
