A sweet quick read about a rock star and his chief of security. I loved how Ezra and Duncan could truly be themselves with each other, instead of the fronts they put on to the world. The role reversal between the two was both sweet and really hot!

The last 55 or 60 pages is where we get some emotional tension and a bit of drama but before that it's just very monotone and boring.  I don't really buy their relationship and I don't necessarily care about it either. I was far more interested in Danny's reaction to their relationship and how it could impact Danny, which I think tells you all you need to know about my thoughts on this book compared to the first one.

I don't have anything bad to say really, the only slightly negative thing I have is that for the first 190 pages I felt like we were just repeating the same concerns about their relationship over and over and over.  They have the same conversation at least twice with almost the same dialogue both times.

This was another good, fluffy read.

In this one we have the owner of the security company doing security for his little brother’s best friend, who is a rock star. Both are queer and out and maybe have had some secret attraction to each other for YEARS.

Overall this was a solid series, the perfect thing for if you just want to zone out and enjoy the feeelz.

Hard Job is the second book in the A-List Security series by Annabeth Albert. I'm loving this series with its sexy bodyguards and the men they fall for. This is Duncan and Ezra's story. Duncan is Danny's brother and Ezra is Danny's best friend! It's a sexy, forbidden, brother's best friend and I loved everything about it. Duncan is retired navy SEAL and now he owns his own security business. He's tough and stoic, but he really just wants to be needed, taken care of and for someone else to make the decisions sometimes. Ezra is a rock star who needs security and he only wants Duncan. Duncan is a huge fan of Ezra and his music. It might be rather large crush. He's shocked to find out Ezra is also attracted to him. Close quarters and literally having to be with him 24/7 is going to lead to doing something he never thought he would. Get involved with a client. It's very bad for business and his reputation, but the more the gets to know Ezra, the more he's willing to take the chance. But can they really make it work? Will the spotlight be too much for Duncan? I really love these two! They are sexy, sweet, fun and perfect for each other. Ezra gets Duncan to relax and open up. Duncan gets Ezra to stop and take care of himself. They are perfect for each other. I especially loved the way they opened up to each other and really listened to each other. I loved watching them fall for each other. It was great to see Danny and Cash again and I'm looking forward to Harley's story!

Bodyguard/client, opposites attract MM romance. I like how they both learn to accept someone taking care of them. Interesting bedroom dynamic, but I liked it.

Hard Job is the second book in the A-List Security series, but it can be read as a stand-alone. I hadn't read the first book yet when I read this one. But trust me, once you do read this book you'll wanna go back for the first one just to get to know Danny and Cash.
I do love the rockstar trope so I just had to read this book and it absolutely didn't disappoint. Ezra is just lovely, not snobbish or arrogant and as soon as he sees what his sometimes careless behaviour does to Duncan's stress level he does his (almost) best to behave better. I loved to read about those two and cannot wait for the third book which will be about Harley

As a longtime Annabeth Albert fan, I am not at all surprised I loved this book. Albert is so good at creating imperfect characters you really are rooting for - guys with baggage, with areas of growth, and with a sweetness that means you can't help but love them.

While Duncan and Ezra's relationship starts quickly (with lots of longing after a mutal lifelong crush), the tension between what they know they want, and what they think they can have as bodyguard and rockstar is what propels us through the book.

I have to admit I stayed up several hours after my usual bedtime one night just to read one more chapter, then one more chapter. I was so invested in Ezra and Duncan finding their happiness I had to find out what happened next.

While not 100% necessary, I would recommend reading A-List Security #1 before this one, as lots of mentions of half-brother Danny and best friend Cash come up (and it is so great to see them living their best life together too!)

For some reason, I liked this one less than the first one, but it's hard to think of a reason for that. It's the same recipe, I think I simply liked Danny and Cash more than Ezra and Duncan.
