It’s a YA book so it’s not going to be super complicated or as thought provoking as if it were an adult book of the same genre. But, it was still a fun and entertaining read. Moved along quickly and easily. Enjoyed it.

this book wanted to be *as good as dead* by holly jackson and *truly devious* by maureen johnson sooooooo bad and really ended up being just. neither of those. none of the characters were compelling, the plot was… all over the place, the answers to the questions were just kind of meh, and it didn’t feel like any sort of mystery or thriller. also, it really failed at having an ambiguous ending?? like, it just wound up feeling like a lazy move, not having to establish any sort of consequences for anything (emotional, mental, physical, or otherwise). all in all, i didn’t like this book.
