Genre: Smutty romance, Fiction
My summary: Keira Kilgore has been working tirelessly to save the distillery that’s been in her family for generations. Already reeling after her lying and cheating ex-husband siphoned money out of her business, a bomb gets dropped on her that he borrowed 500k from the ruthless Lachlan Mount. Known as the King of New Orleans, no one has ever crossed Mount and stayed alive. With no other options to satisfy the debt, Mount offers her another way to satisfy the debt—herself. Mesmerized by Keira in a way that no woman has ever captured his attention, Mount makes it his mission to make Keira his.
My thoughts: Wowza. Meghan March packs a punch in this book. Dark, gritty, and dirty. I’m in my NOLA smut era and it’s everything I could hope it to be. It ends on a cliffhanger, like all of her books do in the middle of a series, so I couldn’t download the next one fast enough. From the looks of the reviews, this is either a love it or hate it, and I’m in the love it category.  But if you’re in the mood for a really, really smutty and dark read, this is a great one. To be fair, I’ve also read Meghan March’s interconnected series completely out of order, so perhaps I enjoyed this more because I already know the ultimate outcome.

If you were curious about Haunting Adeline but couldn't get past the terrible writing, try this instead. Unless you're a dark romance girly, read the content warnings though
