Already helping me in training my cat. Hopefully, I will soon be able to get her to go to the vet for a check up.

This book provides insight into cats’ behaviors and what we know of their thought processes, then gives practical steps on how to train cats based on their psychology. Great info on how to help cats be more relaxed and happy with our demands of them - living with multiple cats/pets, vets, travel, indoor lifestyle. Basically the crux of all training is to break it into small pieces and work on those for small amounts of time and build up to the actual behavior wanted.

This is a really good guide to training your cat to be more comfortable in everyday life. It also includes a bunch of science about how cats work. I've been really interested in dog training recently since I got a dog, but I love their ideas for training a cat to make your cat's life easier too. I would like to work on some of these things with my cat. Most of this training is the same way you would train a dog (if you do it properly) but with more input on how cats would feel about it.

I was less enthralled by this one than I was Dog Sense because Bradshaw is a dog-researcher and not a cat-researcher, and Ellis is a cat-researcher but not a writer. With that being said, this is still an exceptional book on cat training and behavior, and I highly recommend it to cat owners.

This book gave me a better understanding of cats, but did not take the practical advice and training far enough.

Good tips and strategies; mostly prose, with few charts.

I had never thought about training my cats before, but this book gives great information. Not only does it give a good understanding of how cats think and learn, but it gives a good amount of practical instruction for the most common issues that can be solved with training. The practical lessons make the book a bit repetitive since the key skills are discussed early on and most of the practical skills are some application of a combination of key skills. However, this book is invaluable for those who truly want to train their cats.

An absolutely necessary book for cat owners.
I'm the proud mama of a cute kitten who has more than earned his name: Loki. The little rascal is an absolute force of nature who loves to 'mug' unsuspecting humans, hiding in dark corners and 'assaulting' you by hopping on two legs and trying to catch the back of your knees. It might be the most adorable thing, that hurts so much, I've ever seen. So, it is imperative I get to training my kitten before it stops being funny and I actually become afraid of the little God of Mischief I've got on my hands.
This book provides us with all the essential steps to train our cats into actually doing what we want. I'm still going to be reading more on the subject, but this a rather good introduction.

A very well-researched look into cat psychology. I learned a lot and hope to put some of their training tips into practice with Mindy. I do wish this had included some more simple, step-by-step, how-to guides, but this one can't be beat for comprehensiveness.
