A very interesting and innovative zombie book. R is such an interesting and rich character, the inner-workings of his mind so intricate and complicated despite his inability to fully express himself. And the changes wrought by the introduction of Julie into his life make him even more intriguing. I liked the little bits of philosophy in the book (how the zombie plague might have come about, etc.) and found that to add another layer to the story so it wasn't just some gory/funny zombie story. I can't wait to see the movie and find out if it lives up to the expectations of the book.

I liked the movie, but I loved the book. This is a really unique concept and play on the zombie world. We all know that zombies are dead people, but never thought they could fall in love and come back to life. This was a fun story that had a fun ending.

This book had some really great lines. I enjoyed it and definitely recommend others check it out if they want something different and not so cookie cutter.

This Romeo and Juliet retelling (this you can tell by the MANY parallels) made me cry so hard, I wish I could read it for the first time again.

I first learned about this book on facebook after reading an article about the upcoming movie. I showed the article to my roommate and we looked up the book and read the synopsis. A month later my roommate bought the book and read it and said it was actually pretty good. I was reluctant to read the book because the article said that it was the new Twilight and the idea seemed a bit weird and unusual, I mean a romance between a human and a Zombie? But after seeing the trailers on facebook and youtube I was curious about the book and my roommate let me borrow it. I finally got a chance to start reading it and I couldn't put it down! R was absolutely adorable and the plot of the book definitely wasn't what I was expecting! I noticed on Isaac Marion's goodreads page that a sequel of Warm Bodies will be written and I'm looking forward to it because while the ending of the book was good and didn't really leave any loose ends, I feel that there is more that can be written about R and Julie and this new world that they have created.

Warm Bodies is charming and funny and strange and poignant. Someday, when the zombie apocalypse happens, Warm Bodies will be my inevitable demise as I will naively think that I can charm a zombie into not eating me and, instead, becoming unundead.

Zombies,Heart and Soul and trapped Consciousness aspects you don`t usually associate together. So my curiosity was peaked. From start to finish in a space of 24 hours I lost myself. The words, phrasing and metaphors just seemed to flow off the page into my head creating a whirlpool of images. They just grabbed me and never really let me go.Without getting into to much gory detail he pulled me inside the main character`R`and let me see a world through his maybe not so dead eyes.Zombies with wit and and empathy and a longing for things gone as his love of music tells.I finished it last week and I know that in reading it so fast I probably did not allow for every word to sink in and so I am looking forward to picking it up again and discovering something new about the book.

who knew a book about zombies could be so… incredibly… human. a bit optimistic? sure, but what’s so wrong with that? i’d like to believe something as simple as hope can save us all. others may see this as a simple love love story, and in some ways it can feel like that, sure, but ultimately this book to me is about the power of hope. and it’s beautiful. corny? maybe. perfect? no. but beautiful? yes.

FULL ORIGINAL REVIEW @ HERE!
I remember I read this book back in 2013, right before the movie came out. I even remember finishing the last few pages of it inside the theater right after watching the movie and loving it! But I’m not here to talk about the movie so, let us start/continue with this wonderful bookish talk, shall we?
The plot of this wonderful book right here is one of those that is so unique and special that you just can’t forget or get over! When I first started this book, I really didn’t know what I was getting into, and at first I felt like out of touch with everything since I don’t usually read books about zombies, but as soon as I continued reading, I fell in love with it and I am sooo sooo glad I didn’t gave up on it! The story here evolves around this “special” zombie called R and how he’s tired of being just a zombie wondering around the city and eating people’s brains.Yes, he’s tired of “living” (lol) like that, and after attacking a group of humans that were scavenging for supplies he meets this girl Julie and instead of eating her brains like any other zombie would, he decides to save her. But why would he do that? (I think we all know why, but still, this is a nice question to intrigue you guys, right? Right? Please say yes). And like it says up in the summary/synopsis, that is how a never before seen relationship begins, and I completely loved everything about it! Why? Because it’s something different and completely original, because I loved how nicely things developed between all the characters, and because of the amazing job Isaac Marion did making sure us, his readers, enjoyed this book one way or another from beginning to end! He made sure to captivate us (or, at least, me) with his writing and with the way things turned out to be either interesting and serious or funny. It was great! Now, let’s move on to: the characters!
Characters: Around the pages of this amazing book, we get to meet a couple of characters, but they’re not much since EVERYONE ELSE IS A ZOMBIE, remember? So, besides R and Julie who are our main characters, we also get to meet General Grigio (who’s julie’s dad), M (R’s best zombie friend or something like that),Nora Greene (who is um. . .Julie’s best/closest friend), Perry Kelvin (Julie’s first love), the Dead (the rest of the zombies), and the famous Boneys (who are like zombies on their last phase or something). Anyway, I completely loved the characters of this book, I had definitely no problem connecting and understanding them, and I loved the way Isaac made every single one of them connect one way or another, bye.
In the end, I completely loved this book and I totally recommend it! Why? Because it’s such a fun and different read! So yeah, if you haven’t read it, you should at least give it a try
