This was a disappointment. From the blurb and the setting and first chapter had such promise, but I feel like the rest of the book just kind of meandered. I’d be willing to give the author another shot, though, because the prose was good. This one just wasn’t for me.

I did not in fact know what was going on. This book was a journey if nothing else, and while I'm happy to have read it I'm a little sad that it ended so abruptly. No questions were answered and it was suddenly over. I will say that it's interesting, what would anyone do if they stumbled into someone else's loving home?

I think I would’ve enjoyed this book a lot more had I read the authors notes about the book prior to reading it. Just diving into the book and reading it like a normal book you do not realize that is widely open for interpretation and made up of symbolism. There isn’t one true interpretation for this book other than the author taking a character without love and introducing him to all types of love.

This book is like reading a nightmare. Not because it’s bad but you feel lost as to what is going on half the time. You don’t feel like anything connects or makes sense. Come to find out this is more on purpose. But if I had to take a quiz over this book I fear I would fail.

Would I read this book again? No, probably not. But after reading the authors finishing notes and thoughts on the book and other readers thoughts. I have in turn gained more of an appreciation for what kind of symbolic art this book was.  And if this review didn’t make sense, the book doesn’t either until you reflect on it; even then I’m still not sure I fully understand it, and that’s ok.
