Originally published at Novel Escapism

Imogen Shaw is leaving Florida for college in Boston in 34 hours and she’s more than ready. But, she’s not ready for Seth Cavanaugh. When Seth and Imogen are thrown together for a one-night scavenger hunt, both of them will find what they are missing and will have to take a chance on each other. I liked this YA novel but it was not anything new or unique. The writing is very competent and the story, while predictable, kept my attention. I liked the scavenger hunt and the rapport between the main characters is believable and mostly natural. All in all, a fun, easy read.

I just loved this book!!!!

We cannot say this is an original story, we can't say we are surprised by its turns and twists, it is a journey of some sort, it is a day they were dreading for it to end but so was I!!! I could have read thousands of pages of utter nothingness and still be content....they were perfect together and Seth....oh my Seth!!!

I loved Seth in the first book so I was excited to see his story. Imogene was fun and quirky and so hurt. I loved the scavenger hunt and how these two knew there was a connection and started to unravel themselves for one another. It is a “fast” relationship occurring over a few days but it didn’t feel rushed.
I really enjoyed it and hope we’ll get to see what happens to the couple.

I love this book. I love Seth, I love Imogen. I love swimming pools and sleepless nights.

This book encompasses every thing a good love story should have, without the cliché, "instalove", and insane predictability that many have these days.

I highly recommend this book, for so many reasons I can't even list them right now.

I may come back to give you more, but as of right now, do yourself a favor and go meet Imogen!

I can't even deal with how much I enjoyed this book and how I'm now sad I have never been on a scavenger hunt with a hot guitarist!!

"This girl is some strange cross-pollination of wide-eyed innocence and tear-your-balls-off scrappiness and all I can think is, where the hell has she been all my life?"

This book has easily become one of my new favourite contemporaries! I loved how the story literally took place over the course of 36 hours, even though at first that just screamed INSTA-LOVE at me, because honestly I was so happy with how it all played out. Yes they catch feelinggs fast.. but also they both acknowledge that it was just a really amazing day and neither of them had had one of those in a while and wanted to see where it went - normal right?!

I just fell in love with them both falling in love with each other and I really just want a Seth in my life!! He was kind, patient, funny, and just an all around amazing guy (have been dying to read this since I fell in love with him in 'the bright effect'). Imogen was amazing too - she was fiery but not nasty, sarcastic, genuine. They honestly made the most perfect couple and reading about their time together was so adorable i can't cope. The actual plot was so much fun too, who doesn't love a good scavenger hunt? They also had their own side stories / family dramas to deal with which I feel always adds depth to characters so I really appreciated that, and I was so happy to see Amelia, Bash and Carter again!

Honestly just the cutest most wholesome sweet romance I've read in a while and I ended up reading it in about 4 hours and I'm desperate for more.. if you haven't read a book by these authors, DO IT YOU WONT REGRET IT!!! seriouslyyy, do it.

NO. WORDS.

Okay, I have lots of word. BUT ONLY GOOD WORDS. Autumn Doughton is my superhero and her books not only speak to your soul, but they are chalked full of life lessons that stick with you forever. And since I can never tell which author wrote which character/part of the story, I guess this all goes for Erica Cope as well.

I loved Bash and Amelia's story SO MUCH that I was CONVINCED I wouldn't be able to love or appreciate Seth's story. But this one blew my socks off and really had me loving Seth and Imogen (such a great name) just as much, if not more than Bash and Amelia.

I'm a sucker for road trip/scavenger hunt/not-insta-love-but-falling-in-love-on-a-quick-yet-doomed-timeline stories, and this book was all three combined into one.

Seth is so much more than a guitar playing guy who is standing on the precipice of stardom. He is genuine, soulful, hilarious, patient and so kind. Imogen is so much more than an obsessed ballerina. She is flawed and hurt, but so much more willing to take a chance than she even realized. Together, they are perfect; two missing pieces that fit better than anyone could even imagine. Their story will make you smile and laugh as much as it will make you want to cry out in anger and frustration. But let me assure you...it is all worth it. Always.

Side notes: Imogen's mom is one of my favorite characters and I hope I can be as amazing as she is when I grow up. Also, I feel like Imogen's house is what Autumn's home is like IRL. Like that character and that setting are EXACTLY what I imagine Autumn to be like AND NO ONE CAN CONVINCE ME OF ANYTHING DIFFERENT.

A coming-of-age tale that felt a lot like Paper Towns and every bit as good.
