I am so thankful to Europa for allowing me to read the final chapter (which has been out for French readers) in English. I gave this series a chance and I am so glad I did. It has become one of my favorite Fantasy series - ever. It has been a long time since I read a book with my mouth open over the things that were happening. I was happy, I was sad, I was angry, I was shocked. I felt things that only happen when I read books that affect me in some way.

Ophelia is one of my favorite heroines in fantasy and watching her grow over the course of four books has been quite a wonder. Her relationship with Thorn as well. They are so perfectly paired and their story ends in a climatic and jaw dropping finale.

The mystery, the intrigue, and the overall story over God and 'The Other' wraps up so perfectly and with such gusto that I was mentally cheering and screaming at the reveals.

The ending is one that makes sense and gives me hope for the future. I hope one day that the series becomes adapted for the screen. I am visual reader, I picture things in my head as I read and the things I pictured along with the text I read were things I wished to see come to life.

If you love science, Alice in Wonderland, The Golden Compass, and a mixture of romance, this is the series for you. I hope that readers will come to enjoy what Christelle Dabos gave us and that English readers will marathon the series quite like I did.

Ending a series is always bittersweet. Having to reflect on this one is hard because I hate that we were left with so many loose ends however the ending was as climatic as you would expect from a final book. Overall I think this series is worth a read if you want something different. I definitely won’t be forgetting this one soon!

Le sigh

What an absolutely wild ride!

This series went from whimsical little steam punk fantasy, to crime noir, to light academia, to political rebellion and speakeasies, to experimental science and the paranormal. And somehow it had a logical progression! Such a fantastic fantasy!!

In the vein of Howl's Moving Castle, Stardust, and Fringe.

You don't have finality with the ending, but I personally like to think it hints at a HEA.
