Love that the guy was so supportive of Maeve’s one sports career, even if her family wasn’t.

I've loved reading Farnsworth's books, but this was my first time listening to one. It was just as good an experience. I loved the dynamics of this story. Maeve and Wes live in neighboring towns with a major rivalry. Maeve's twin brother is her high school football team's quarterback, and her dad is the coach. Wes is the more talented quarterback for the opposing town's team. They're two people who should never have met. Secrecy is the name of the game as they get to know each other and fall in love. I loved how they got to know each other better than anyone else. Their relationship was sweet...until the rivalry got in the way. I disliked so many of the side characters, especially Maeve's twin brother and both quarterbacks' teammates. Oh, and Natalie. They did make the story entertaining, though. This was a fun, mature YA sports romance. It kind of reminded me of something Ginger Scott would write, and that's high praise from me.

Really well written YA. Usually I don't read YA because they are too immature for my taste but this one was really well done.Â
Romeo and Juliet isn't a trope I read very often but it really worked in this book. I loved the feuding football towns but I also loved that both main characters were athletes and that they pushed each other.Â
The romance in this happened pretty naturally and also was quite mature for two high schoolers. I really appreciated that it wasn't rushed.
I'm looking forward to book 2.
