Runaway is an emotional look into the life of a girl who chose to be homeless rather than stay in the foster care system. I found the book engaging and inspiring. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys realism and character development.

Liked:
* Holly's street smarts
* She seems like a much older character
* The journal style formatting made the book a quick read
* Holly's honesty about herself and her thoughts
* Any age could read it. Theres no cursing or sexual content
* An eyeopening story of why some kids choose life on the streets to foster homes.

This book should be on every social worker, teacher, and students bookshelf. The main character Holly is a 12 year old runaway turned homeless. She details her life in journal form writing to a teacher she had while in elem. school. It is an in depth look at homeless children/teens and how they live their day to day lives, looking for basics like food, shelter, and safety. Please read.

This book was so good, I couldn't put it down! I would recommend it somebody who loves sad and depressing books, touching the topics. Of neglect and abuse

I usually don't like epistolary novels, but I enjoyed this one's emotions and the solutions to the situations the hero found herself in.
