Just as action-packed as the first and a great read. While part of me feels these books are a bit too young for me, I love reading them anyway. The imagery is brilliant, and I can almost see the story play out in my head like a film. The story was great with small nods to British pop-culture and characters that intertwined with the first novel of the series.

Like the first book, it was interesting yet I still didn’t care too much for it. The dialogue was kind of cringe, and it was to where I was wondering if this is how kids in London actually talked.
The fact that it was almost a completely new cast of characters kind of put me off. Also I knew the lamb and the goat was supposed to be that one boy and The Kid the moment Matt started describing them. I’m getting real tired of figuring out connections long before it’s supposed to come to light.
I’d binge-watched seasons 3-9 of The Walking Dead in less than a month and I was hoping this book would help me stop thinking about it (since season 10 isn’t available

Excellent second book. I enjoyed the backstory. Still curious how the "disease" came about...hopefully, the next book will tell more!

More like 3.5 stars. Overall, I really enjoyed the ride that I went through with this book. However, the first third of the book was quite slow and it took huge determination for me to get past it. After that, though, it goes pretty fast-paced. All in all, I quite liked it :)
