I could tell from the very beginning that I was going to enjoy this book, even more than the first one. Not only are we already aware of who the characters are and it just feels like we understand things a little bit better, but this book follows more closely, my favorite and most beloved characters in any Jane Austen world. The mystery was really good in this one, and I didn’t guess the killer until just before the end. And while the ending felt pretty complete it set us up for the next book, which I really enjoyed. I cannot wait to read that one.

I was a little late starting this with the #pemberlittens but it was easy to catch up. I enjoyed revisiting the characters from the first book. The mystery was better in the first but this one was also enjoyable. It leaves a teaser at the end for the next book, so I’ll definitely be reading it.
SpoilerI’m also desperate for a proper romantic finale like in all Jane Austen books.
It is a mystery book, but one can hope. Also, “my” Willoughby isn’t as bad or as mean as in this book. Although, I can see how the author’s interpretation is correct too.
