I really enjoyed the concept as well as the overall vibe of this short story, I was just a little confused through some parts leading up to the climax.

"Big Bad" offers an intriguing conclusion to the Creature Feature collection.
The story, centered on a werewolf, follows traditional horror werewolf rules and delivers plenty of gore and tension. The narrative also delves into the complexities of a disintegrating marriage, weaving together mundane and supernatural issues.
While the werewolf elements are particularly captivating, the thorough character development and foreshadowing contribute significantly to the story's impact. The inclusion of normal wolves alongside werewolves is a commendable choice, adding depth to the narrative.
Although "Big Bad" falls short in fully exploring some plot lines and aspects which prevented the story from fulfilling its full potential, it remains a compelling and page-turning read.

I love some of the themes and creatures incorporated in this tale, but the writing is clunky, and the scenes/perspectives are really disjointed.

This story in the Creature Feature collection felt slower-paced than the five stories. There was a bit more build-up to the gore, and there was plenty of gore!

I am not sure how I feel after reading this. I felt sorry for Sam; I won't lie. And I could not stand Rachel by the end; she seemed a tad uncaring, and her story about Mason seemed a bit untrustworthy. Oh, and that Odie is one of the most irritating characters.

However...

Big Bad was an enjoyable story; it would have made a goretastic full-length novel!

Big Bad is the last short story in the Creature Feature series. A uniquely told werewolf story.
