The first two scenarios of the lovers meeting I was intrigued, but the more the story went on, the more annoyed I was. Nothing was new, it was just the two of them being awful to eachother and then to themselves. the side characters and glimpses to Peru’s political state were far more intriguing to the central characters and storyline.

the only I think could’ve saved the book was a good ending but her dying of cancer felt like such a cop out and made everything else redundant.
