I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of nine stories. Kojo has gone to great lengths to celebrate African stories and picked up his tales from Libya, Madagascar, Angola and Mauritius whilst also ensuring that he note the Zulu, Akan and Igbo cultures among others.
The stories themselves are very well written and lend themselves to be both read out loud and in silence. Personally, I would learn them in order to tell them in my own words but there is no denying that care and great thought has gone into the crafting of these (mostly) animal stories.
The start of the collection has an introduction from Kojo himself sharing his own, Ghanan heritage and he closes the book with some informative and useful information on Africa as a continent taking care to explore its people and the animals who live there. I look forward to [b:Tales from the Caribbean|36216999|Tales from the Caribbean (Puffin Classics)|Trish Cooke|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1505063198s/36216999.jpg|57852417].
