Loved Easwaran's foreword and translation, both of which do a great job situating the Gita among the works of other mystics like Meister Eckhart and St. John of the Cross who were just as devoted to the Perennial Philosophy as Vyasa was.

Excellent translation

I had always been afraid to read the Bhagavad Gita because I thought it would be difficult. This wonderful translation prefaces each chapter with contemporary language so the reader is prepared for the poem verses. Even the verses were easier to follow than I expected though knowing from the Introduction that it was Sanjaya speaking to a long about a vision of the conversation between Arjuna and Krishna and it even easier.
