I liked how it wasn't a direct copy of the movie details. Some of the new ideas the author came up with were clever and I enjoyed it.

so the action didn't come until chapter 32.... which is the last chapter.... do what you will with that information
i liked the idea, but imo it wasn't executed how it was supposed to be executed.
the writing felt old, and when i say old, i mean jane austen type of old
it also felt repetitive - for example ;
"cinderella decided to sew the dress. after that thought, cinderella went ahead and got all her materials. the materials cunderella needed were......"

you know what. these books fucking slap and im not going to pretend they dont.
this was a great time to read. it was unpredictable which is what makes this series so refreshing from other books of the genre. I couldn't guess what was going to happen! there were some plot points that were hinted at - but those were spelled out for the read to pick up like a pre approved scavenger hunt.
SOMETIMES CHEKIOV'S FLOWERS ARE JUST FLOWERS!
this book was charismatic in portraying cinderella as a human being. she loved the prince but also wasn't under any illusions that a commoner running the kingdom was about as realistic as space flight was during that time period. girlie really said, "well if i cant marry the guy i love i will at least settle for being able to feed myself" which is a relatable cause at this moment.
The prince was also made into a whole ass character and given a great reason for wanted to track down a woman that he met for one night. maybe he wouldnt fall in love with her but its the first time that he wanted to try.
we be out here reading published disney fanfic in thee year of our lorde 2023 but its got motherfucking human trafficking in it this shit goes hard.

I enjoyed this book way more than I expected to, it brought me into a safe little Disney bubble that you know will give you what you want. Cheesy, yes. But do I care? No.

well its Cinderella , and I have seen so many other different retelling and this one is kind of a unique one, i wish that there were more romance tho
