This is so good. All the characters are so charming and believable, the language is super fun too considering the setting and era. Absolutely obsessed.

This book was a simple, pure delight. I can't believe I went my whole life so far never having read this one. Looking forward to reading more of Twain's work. Nick Offerman does a fantastic job on the reading, so much fun to listen to.

I picked up this book hoping to read a funny novel about a mischievous little boy of like, seven years old. I was not expecting the main character to be an about-to-be-a-teenager jerk. I think the idea of this book is enthralling, but the way it was written didn't match the vibe. For example, the flowing of metaphors. In a book with flowing metaphors, you would expect it to be about something a little more... elegant. But a story about boys who pretend to be pirates? Save your breath!

Most of the characters present racial ideals throughout the story, and there isn't just ONE plot. There are like, a million little plots that grow and twist on each other enough to make your head spin. And another thing; none of the characters are lovable. Usually, when I read something, there's at least ONE character that I like, but in this book, I disliked every single character. And I mean, isn't that what a writer is supposed to do? Help the reader fall in love with the character/s?

All in all, I found this book boring, not funny, and a total waste of my time.
