I came across this book after a recommendation from the Fated Mates podcast Trailblazer episode on Beverly Jenkins.
In the 20+ years since it’s publication it has not aged, and packs a wallop of a punch. No saggy middle, fantastic characters, and a couple you just cannot see how they will be together. But this is romance, and of course they have their HEA.
Jenakins weaves historical information into her story with finesse, and includes references should readers want to seek her original sources. I’ve never seen that in a romance before, and was pleasantly surprised.
Go read it, if you haven’t already!
