Drake and Serena… these two have been friends since childhood, but Drake always thought he would never stand in Serena’s way of achieving her goals in life. So he stayed back…. Serena has loved Drake since.. she probably can’t remember a time when she didn’t. In this audio version narrated by Ava Erickson and Aiden Snow, the story grabbed me from the beginning. Sometimes audiobooks are hard because I want to keep reading them over, but I reserve these books for on the go or things like that. This was one of those stories where I kept wanting to listen. The narrators did an excellent job throughout the story. I loved how Serena and Drake’s love change and grew and we got to witness it. I really enjoyed a fellow sugar tooth gal like Serena! I would recommend this audio book all day long.

I received this audiobook through the publisher and I am voluntarily reviewing this book, opinions are my own

I enjoyed listening to this and was surprised to hear Aiden Snow’s voice so soon because I did not look at the narrators when I came across this.

This was my first book by Melissa Foster and the world she created for the Bayside gang and I’m looking forward to listening to the rest of the gang. This is book 3 in the Bayside Summers series and it focuses on Drake and Serena. They have been friends as long as they can remember and have been in love for about the same time but the timing was never right for them. Serena decides to make a big move to propel her career and this involves moving to the city away from their small town. This decision makes Drake realise that he has been wasting time by not telling Serena how he truly feels about her. I enjoyed listening to how Drake and Serena's relationship went from friends to lovers. The only thing for me was that it started to feel a bit drawn out towards the end like the story could’ve ended before it actually did. Besides, this was a good read, light and easy to get through.

The book focuses on a tight knit group of friends and family in Wellfleet, Massachusetts - specifically Serena Mallery and Drake Savage. Serena has worked with Drake for the past four years, but they've never acted on their attraction to one another. When Serena is offered her dream job in Boston, things start to get interested. They continue to fight the attraction until one night they just can't anymore.

Serena grew up without the support of a loving mother and refused to give up her dream in order to keep a man. This story follows her journey of finding out that her dreams may not lead to where she thought they needed to be. She struggles with where her head tells her she needs to be - Boston, and where her heart is telling her - back home with Drake and her friends.

Serena and Drake work through the trials of a long distance relationship. An opportunity will present itself that will force Serena to choose where her happiness liies and whether she is is brave enough to make the right choice.

The large ensemble of secondary characters add excitement and fun to this love story.

Bayside Heat is everything I look for in a summer read - or listen as the case may be. It has plenty of feels but is still low angst. The characters are relatable and so easy to root for, and the chemistry is off the charts. Drake and Serena tiptoe around each other a bit, but there's no denying what's between them. The romance is friends to lovers and a first love romance, and it's a great combination of sweet and sexy. There are also some chuckle-worthy moments, which I always appreciate, and I love that the secondary characters are just as important to the story as our couple. Everyone, from the woman making donuts to the overbearing boss to the little scene stealer (just give it a listen, you'll know who I mean) - anyway, everyone adds something to the story, and the more I listened, the more I'm convinced I have to go back and listen to the first two in the series. Yes, this is a standalone, but now that I've met them, I need more of these characters.
Ava Erickson and Aiden Snow give voice to the characters, and their performance was nothing short of what I've come to expect from both of them. When it comes to feels and keeping the energy of the story up, these two bring it. So, I'd have to say that Melissa Foster's terrific writing combined with Ava Erickson's and Aiden Snow's narration is a pretty unbeatable match.

This one was such a sweet friends to lovers romance! The characters are quirky and fun, like all of Melissa's characters, so you get pulled in right away and want to know more about them and can't help but root for them. I'm always excited to see where the side characters will pop up next and the question of if they'll get their own book is always fun. That's why I love all the interlocking series so much!

Both narrators did a wonderful job with this one. Soothing voices that were perfect for the vibe of this story!

BAYSIDE HEAT by [a:Melissa Foster|3023973|Melissa Foster|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1251697182p2/3023973.jpg] is the third book in the Bayside Summers series and is Drake and Serena's story.

"Baby, I've known you were my kryptonite forever."

Drake and Serena have been in love with each other forever but have never acted on their feelings. When Serena takes a new job in Boston, Drake is worried he is going to lose Serena forever and decides it is time to finally tell her how he feels.

Drake and Serena have some serious tension between them that has been burning for a very long time and finally ignites into a raging inferno that melts your ereader/ears. Listening to their story made me want to run out to the closest bakery. I love the entire Bayside crew and can not get enough of them.

Aiden Snow and Ava Erickson were amazing choices for Drake and Serena and made their story so much more than it was just reading it.

BAYSIDE HEAT contains... small town, best friends-to-lovers, star-crossed lovers, and dual third-person point of view.

5 Maple Leafs for BAYSIDE HEAT by Melissa Foster.

Bayside Heat encompasses those warm, summery vibes to perfection. However, for all the vibes this narrative presents, there lacks any true emotional depth in the romance and in its leads. Bayside Heat almost reads like a watered-down Meghan Quinn novel.

Listened to this book

Serena is finally moving out to Boston because she’s got the dream job at a big firm she wants to work at in Boston away from the Cape. She is leaving everything she knows and her friends and Drake. Drake is her best friend and the other friend that was alway there, when they are leaving they finally let go and tell their true feelings. She is doing her thing in Boston and coming back and forth to the Cape to be with Drake and her friends, but also trying to be the best in her position. What happens when she realizes she keeps missing things that are important to her? What happens when she wants to be her own boss?

This book was so hallmark cute! I really loved Drake and Serena’s relationship. This is written in 3rd POV, and listening wasn’t so bad. The narrators were incredible. I really just enjoyed the small town vibes and the story line.

ARC Received for an honest review

I haven't read all of the Bayside stories, however this did not affect my enjoyment of Bayside Heat, and I will be going back to read them in the future.

Bayside Heat is a beautiful story of friendship, of family, of taking the chance on love.

I wanted to clonk Drake and Serena's heads together to make them get their act together, to get one of them to make that first move. For them to find love.

I freaking adore all of the Cape Cod "family". I love how they all saw what Drake and Serena had been denying, and how they all kinda "pushed" our lovelies together.

Bayside Heat is a lovely look down memory lane for Drake and Serena, as they move from the friend-zone they have placed each other in over the years. There is something to be said about being friends before diving in to a sexual kind of relationship, and you can feel the mutual love for each other.

I laughed at some of the antics from the other Bayside couples - it was great to catch up with them all again.

Sweet and tender with a lot of heat, Bayside Heat was a perfect weekend read for me.

I can't wait to see what Ms Foster bring us next.

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

Melissa Foster books are some of my favourites. I always find them enjoyable, fast reads, with little to no angst.

Drake and Serena’s story is a sweet and fun read. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but thats not an issue because Melissa writes them all as standalone. I love a good friends to lovers romance and this one was no exception.

Things start heating up between the two of them, as Serena is leaving to follow her dreams and move to Boston. Right from the start I was cheering for these two to get together, and watching them finally get there and how things play out as a result was really sweet.

Their friends are a lot of fun and make for some great banter and fun moments when they’re around. When its just Drake and Serena, their connection is palpable and intense and meant to be.

I enjoyed watching them navigate life and its changes, and how they communicate about things. The ending was absolutely perfect and I can’t wait to read more about their friends and this town in the future.
