I'll be honest, I was a little nervous about the introduction of another storyline. I know that from a genre perspective, comics and graphic novels are supposed to be a great medium for having parallel storylines that intersect only at the author's desire - that it can all be connected or not at all. Still, it seemed a bit risky given that while we had definitely come to a stopping point in other storylines, we had not actually come to their conclusion. But the twist and integration into the overarching plot worked very well - I'm intrigued to see what happens when our heroes arrive at this destination. Well, maybe heroes is a stretch, and they still have to find their destination, if they actually can, but you get what I mean.

I hated this volume and I adored this volume.

Watching your favorite family grow apart hurts but it was so wonderfully done.
Spoiler watching Alana go through drug addiction was harrowing, I wanted to grab her and just shake her. Watching her destroy her life and relationship was heartbreaking
Marko my sweet man, I just want all good things to happen to him. Baby Hazel is so freaking cute!

Also this comic is so freaking funny. My favorite panel has to be our introduction to the TV king lmao.

I cannot wait to read Volume 5 asap.

This volume picks up after a little time skip, and I really like that choice as the progression felt natural. It was very fun to see Hazel a little bit older, speaking and walking around as a toddler now and interacting with the world around her more. I also loved how the conflicts started with general married spouse arguments, tension rising, until the stakes suddenly spiked again by the end of the volume with a big cliffhanger ending. We are essentially following 3 different groups of characters and their storylines, but seeing how they are tied together and how they inevitably clash is the thrilling and juicy part. I have come to love almost all of the diverse cast of characters and am just speeding through these comics because I can't wait for more.

I gave this a lower rating just because the couple isn’t getting along and I didn’t like some of the action of the characters. Other than that it’s still enjoyable and I like the ending.
