I really like this author's style and angry, messy characters. But I found the end of this one a little confusing. I'm not sure why Eli had to save Kye the way he did. I wish there had been a more build-up so the stakes were clearer. It seemed like there were no limits to his power until suddenly there were.

In April 2024 information came out about this author that proves they are a white person pretending to be Latine for clout, profit, and so that they can call anyone who disagrees with them racist. They are a bully who uses multiple synonyms to harass other authors and readers. As such, I have removed my review for this and every other book of theirs I have read.

I love demon stories, especially demons who are not that evil in the end. This is not a funny story about a golden hearted demon, though in all honesty, the demon here is actually pretty damn nice.

Kye is haunted by the family that didn't accept them and returning to their inheritance after everyone else has died. They're also possessed. Kye is depressed and raw and one of those people who wants pain to feel alive or relive their past horrors or something around those lines. I can relate to many of their mental issues but not the masochism, which manifests especially during sex. Mostly the erotica here is still pretty hot. Eli is of course everyone's dream demon and the romance here is actually pretty sweet.

I was really taken by the author's novella [b:Exodus 20:3|60095503|Exodus 20 3|Freydís Moon|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1641835989l/60095503._SY75_.jpg|93030785] and feel it was a bit tighter. While I enjoyed With a Vengeance, it perhaps dragged a bit here and there. Still, the parts that I liked are plenty, the characters and their backgrounds and the atmosphere to mention a few.

This might be a tough read for some people because of transphobia, past abuse and rough sex.

it breaks my heart to change the review, but I feel sick. Genuinely, how dare you? How does something this beautiful and tender come from a place of such deception?

For context, just go to twitter/Instagram for this author's name.
