Audiobook. 4.5 rounded up. I loved this story of Maia as she explores her family history. The flashback story was so immersive too. There were definitely a lot of adoption themes and I didn’t love how some of the adoption thoughts and feelings were represented. Seemed more of an old fashioned view on adoption. That said, I so enjoyed this book and think it was especially suited for audio.

Well DAMN. I’m so grateful I saw a friend review this here on Goodreads and that I decided to take a chance and request it from the library immediately. This was definitely one of my most captivating reads of the year and I’m now prepared to devour the rest of the series. Hooray for newfound treasures of the backlist world and for finding a new favorite author!

This seems like it will be a very neat series - each following a different adopted sisters story of discovery.Â
