It was very easy to get into and in the end it was satisfying to see almost all the puzzle pieces come together. However i very very very nearly DNF’ed this book because the Dutch translation leaves A LOT to be desired. I think this would be waaaay better in english.

Kind of a nice retelling of the myth about the Pleiades or seven sisters, but it felt to much like instalove. The characters didn't come across as very three-dimensional, all they thought about was love and sometimes their parents. There were some interesting insights into the lifestyle of the golden twenties in Brasil and the creation of the famous Cristo Redentor in Rio, but it felt perfunctory. A cozy love story with a lot of family drama, but if you aren't into love triangles, it will definitely not be a book for you, and it wasn't for me either.
