I usually do not enjoy starting a series of books, but this one for sure makes it worth the while. It is so independent yet so embedded into the rest of Lucinda Rileys’s universe. The book is so historical yet contemporary, and to be honest I still do not understand how it is so well put together.
From a personal standpoint, many of the things mentioned relate closely to me as much of the plot is based around Brazil.
Shoutout also for not including a cliff-hanger at the end to advertise upcoming books, well deserved 5 stars!

Riley's first novel in the 'Seven Sister's series follows eldest sister, Maia, as she heads to Brazil following a mysterious clue about her heritage left by her late adoptive father. A historical romance that weaves together themes of love, acceptance, and self discovery.

It takes about a 100 pages before it gets interesting, but it is absolutely worth it.
