Desmend needs a nanny and Leila needs a job. She's got a crush, but knows he never takes women seriously. Can she work for him and keep things professional? Can he?

Desmend was seriously funny to me. He was a great dad, and an honest hoe, lol. It was cute to see him tripped up where Leila was concerned. He didn't know how to handle falling for her, so he mishandled her. Typical, but it was so good. It was written well, the plot twisted nicely and him and Leila were so sexy. He didn't have to embarrass her in that restaurant though, lol.

Leila was upfront about what she wanted. She was also about her business and her money. I loved that about her. She knew she made a mistake going there with Desmend but once it was too late, it was too late. She loved on that little baby, and stood up for herself. I loved that she didn't stop dating, and went about her business instead of waiting.

Good story. I didn't realize I liked nanny romance until this and Where Love Blooms.

LaDesmond got me in a chokehold and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love a man who will pop in a grill, pull out a piece and don’t play about his woman. Desmond had me cracking up from page one and as soon as I met Lei, I knew she was not one to play with. Watching them overcome Des’s hoeness and Lei’s reservations was a beautiful thing. And little baby Destiney??? Oh she is the CUTEST. Listen, this journey wasn’t always easy, especially not with his past running after them, but it certainly showcased what it’s like once you find a rider who will knock you square in your behind and teach you about love.

Umm…I don’t think I liked Desmend, the MMC, lol. I can’t quite tell if some of the things he did/said were intentional to make his character more unlikeable or due to a lack of an eye towards sensitivity. But I wanted to see this one play out. There were moments that made me laugh and the little girl was super cute. I enjoyed the nanny romance trope but this wasn’t my favorite by this author.

Hanging up his Fboi ways

This was my first read by this author and I look forward to reading more of her work! I loved that Lei and Des already was feeling each other and neither one of them really knew until they were basically 'stuck' together and their feelings couldn't be denied. Destiney gave me all the feels though!

Wow. This story was a lot. But a good follow up from Kai and Harper's story. Desmend is a good guy but his upbringing definitely played a big part in how he treated woman until he got close with Leila. Leila turned his life around and gave him hope but his past ways are making it difficult to move forward. This story was good.
