The first thing that caught my eye about this book is the stunning cover, it instantly drew me and and I wanted to learn more and after reading the synopsis I was completely captured. This novel had me right from the beginning, the writing is beautifully done and I really enjoyed the story. Towards the end it got a bit slow for me, but still a great book and would highly recommend.

I have and will continue to recommend this book to everyone looking for a gripping, well written book. I fell in love with the characters and felt every twist and turn while reading, the way Halls forms her characters and their relationships is new, fresh and impeccably done I was enchanted throughout, felt the romance, the pain, the betrayal and all the good and bad between as if I was the main character myself it was truly enthralling. Fantastic! Cannot wait to discover The Foundling now and any future books Stacey Halls goes on to write. She's made a historical fiction fan out of me!

I loved this book, a bit slow to start but then so so good, I could not put it down…. So glad I took her next book out of the library as well

Ok, I have to start by saying that I love the name Fleetwood, and thoroughly enjoyed the descriptions of her life, home and endeavours. Having listened to the audiobook, I felt like I was inside Fleetwood's head and was instantly immersed in the story. A female-centred, well-paced tale with considered twists and turns that helped to build the suspense as well as the world of Northern England in 1612.
