This book has a cute premise with enjoyable characters and a great balance of love story meets Drew's personal growth and struggle with grief. I loved the dynamic between Drew and Jasper and his support for her as she continues down her path of healing and finding what she truly wants her life to look like.

The book was fun, I enjoyed her sister and best friend and the romance was cute. What did disappoint me but I understand was necessary for the book, is that we didn't have the grandmother alive as a character. I mean how amazing would she have been together with the dirty birds.

Easy, lighthearted read with some pleasant surprises — not the most wonderful writing in the world but enjoyable, sweet, and a perfect refresh/palette cleanser read

This is such a frustrating book because the idea was extremely interesting. Getting to see how are main character dealt with grief while introducing a new relationship into her life could’ve been incredibly intriguing. However, this book fails to meet even the bare minimum standards for a romance book.
The heroine in this book has the most annoying personality I’ve read about in a while. She talks about how rich people spend their money on the most excessive thing while being a well off, maybe even wealthy, woman spending money on excessive things. She believes that everyone should always support her and take her side even when she is very clearly in the wrong. She thinks that’s she’s so quirky and different because she’d rather wear doc martens instead of heels. It’s important to know that she’s also an almost 30 year old woman with the humor of a 12 year old boy. The only thoughts she has are about sex and the love interest’s ass.
While I actively disliked the heroine, the hero made me feel absolutely nothing because guess what, his entire personality is him being tall, hot, and packing. We don’t learn a single thing about him throughout the entire story, but in case you forget you’ll be reminded that he’s an author at least every five pages. I genuinely couldn’t even tell you if this man had a brother, sister, or even one friend. I genuinely didn’t care about him in the slightest because there was nothing there. There was nothing even remotely complex about his character. He was one of those characters who’s is so “perfect” that you can’t even pretend like he’s real. The characters imperfections make the story complex and believable, so when you have this piece of plain white bread you genuinely couldn’t care less about what happens to him.
Plus the third act break up was probably one of the stupidest things I’ve ever read. It was unnecessary and only there to fill the typical romance book structure. I honestly hoped that they wouldn’t get back together.
The one star I gave this book is purely for the dirty birds book club. Those little old ladies are the only part of this dumpster fire book that made me remember why I like reading in the first place.

Better than I expected since I'm very picky about contemporary romances.
