LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. I love how all body types are represented and celebrated. Perfect book for the stage of life when kids are observing all of the differences around them.

Sigh. The idea is a good one. But the text is ridiculously boring and repetitive. And there is no story whatsoever. The art is okay. The idea of the art is fantastic. And the choices are terrific. I just wish those choices were in service to a better book.

Bodies Are Cool is a wonderful picture book that teaches children that no matter what someone looks like they are worthy of respect and love. The illustrations are gorgeous and depict people of all skin tones, body shapes, and abilities. We, as a society, teach children not to point out the things that make people different, but this book normalizes those differences which is a fantastic lesson for young readers.
