Mia Voss was carjacked one night and was nearly killed and Detective Ric Santos was the one assigned to her case. Ric and Mia, being a DNA expert, had worked on cases in the past and even had a thing at one time that went beyond a professional relationship. However, Ric didn't want a relationship while Mia did and he backed away. However, when it became apparent that a madman connected to an old case of Mia's and was targeting her, Ric knew the only way to keep her safe was to keep Mia close and to catch the killer. Being forced to work together again, that undeniable spark between Ric and Mia was back and stronger than ever. But will they be able to catch the killer in time before he takes Mia down?

Unforgivable was my first book by Ms. Griffin and it certainly won't be my last. This book is the third in the author's Tracers series but it's very much a standalone. This book reminded me of all the Tami Hoag suspense novels I read one right after the other like candy in college. I thought Unforgivable a perfect blend of suspense, mystery, police procedural action and romance. As for the two main characters, I thought they were both fantastic. Mia was your typical strong, slightly stubborn heroine but she was likable. Ric was her opposite in that he was reserved and distant but there was great tension between the two and I rooted for their happy ending. I really liked the way the author told the story--it was well-written, well-paced and exciting. It had great main characters, an interesting setting, a relationship drama with terrific tension and a gripping mystery that will keep you turning the pages into the night. I think I may have found a new go-to romantic suspense author. I really enjoyed Unforgivable and if you're looking for your next romantic suspense read you cannot go wrong with this book.

Oh my god. This book was incredible. My heart was constantly pounding.

This is my favorite so far, because you get a look into who the killer is, or the man behind the killing, but you don't figure out all the key players! I was certain it was one certain cop, he just rubbed me wrong but I was incorrect and that's fucking epic! I swear I love being wrong, and Laura Griffin knows how to make that happen.

My heart is STILL racing from all the drama and suspense. My mind is whirling and I just cannot get enough! I'm so excited to keep digging into this series. (All can be read as standalones easily. I read the 9th book first as I received an ARC- and it made total sense! P.s it's available for purchase now! It's called Shadow Fall, and Liam Wolfe is sexy, just throwing that in there!)

What started out as another random carjacking, turned out to be something much more for Mia Voss. Something much more. Mia just thought it was a band ending to an already horrible day. And then none other than Detective Ric Santos, a man she had been seeing who just stopped calling her and coming around, shows up to work the case.

It moved at a fast pace, which is something I like in suspense novels. Although this book is classified as a romance, I felt it was more suspense than romance. The romance between the two lead characters seemed more secondary, like an afterthought.

The drawback for me was Mia. She is a very likable character, but her choices and and behavior at times was a little questionable. Ric too had his moments. The few brief interactions with his daughter were among my favorite of him. I always enjoy seeing fathers interact with their children. By the end of the book, I did feel that Ric had grown as a person and was more open not only with Mia but with his daughter Ava.

I did however enjoy the secondary characters, Jonah and Sophie. I hope to see them maybe get something going and get their own book.

Another great suspenseful read from Griffin's Tracers series - this one stars DNA expert Mia and homicide detective Nic. We've met both before and it is nice to see them again! Mia is carjacked at the beginning of the story, but even this crime is not what it seems. Nic is the lead investigator and finds this case is more personal than usual. When Mia is forced to do the unthinkable, the stakes get even higher and she is in more danger than ever...

The conflicts facing each character were believable and the tension kept me reading way too late into the night. If you love romantic suspense with a detailed "police procedural" mystery, check out Laura Griffin's novels!

As I was reading this book, I was having a discussion with my best friend about how there never seems to be enough words to articulate how you feel when you really love something, yet there are oh so many when you really hate something. This book falls in the former category: I don't even really know what to say except that I loved Unforgivable.

I first came across this series when I read Unstoppable, Tracers 2.5, in the Deadly Promises anthology. Until then, I had never even heard of Laura Griffin and her Tracers. But I was blown away by that novella, even liking it more than the Sherrilyn Kenyon story in the book. Despite being just a short novella, Unstoppable pulled me into the Tracers world and kept me interested the whole time. To me, that is a sign of a good writer, when you can really attract a reader's interest from just a short novella, let alone one in the middle of the series. So, the next time I was at the bookstore, I searched the shelves for Griffin's Tracers books. Sadly, this one was the only one I could find for now, but Unforgivable was just as entertaining as the novella.

I absolutely loved the characters of this book, all of them. The main characters, Mia and Ric, were great to read about, and my only complaint is that we learned much more about Mia than we did about Ric. Jonah and Sophie were great, too, and I look forward to reading the upcoming book about them. Rey, Ric's brother, was a cool character, too, as was Sam, Mia's nephew. I was interested in all their lives' throughout the whole book, and that is another sign of a good writer to me.

My only "negative" comment is that the book seemed like it was longer than was necessary. However, I used quotes around negative because it didn't really bother me too much. The plot didn't drag for me or anything; it was just an observation I made that it might have been a little longer than was needed. But, I still loved the book and I look forward to reading more of the series.

Another great romantic suspense by Griffin. Every book she's written has been excellent. The suspense plot in Unforgivable was very well done. I'd have loved to read more about the forensics, especially since Mia is a DNA specialist, but what was there was very interesting. I actually liked both main characters, Mia and Ric, and enjoyed the character development. Even though they both hid information and emotions, the author did a great job of keeping them in character and making the emotional confusion seem appropriate. I would have liked a little more discussion of Ric's change of heart, although that was developed over the last part of the book, at least, and not just sprung on the reader full-blown on the last page.

The secondary characters are, as usual, well done and I look forward to Jonah and Sophie's book coming next.

I loved her other books but this one was lacking. I felt no chemistry between Ric and Mia. Their 'escape' to a secret cabin where sexy times was a bit too convenient. My biggest pet peeve...the food. It was so distracting. I get that Mia is supposed to be 'shapely' but that doesn't mean she needs to feel guilty and ashamed of eating everytime food is brought into the story. Sure the beginning it was necessary since she was in the grocery store buying ice cream in her pjs after a rough day at work. I didn't feel this added depth to her character. She was smart and successful with a hot hero who liked her for those qualities (from previous books). Maybe I was reading it the wrong way but I would have like Mia more if she didn't take any crap from Ric, and embraced her awesomeness which the author mentioned over and over despite her character not acting very smart.
