.
Initial Thoughts: enjoyed this mafia romance. Nick and Mia has great chemistry & a good storyline for the most part. I feel like some of the revelations could have happened sooner as it all seemed to wrap up a bit quickly at the end after a bunch of time passed. It felt a little jumpy with the time lapse transitions, too. Idk I enjoyed reading this, but I feel like Shelly Bell’s Benediction series is just so much better in terms of a sex club backdrop. Of course this novel focused more on the mafia side which I get. Idk hmm I did really like Nick and Mia, but I think something was just missing for me and I’m not sure I’ll be reading the other books in the series. We’ll see.

This book is ok. It just drug in parts so I had trouble finishing it. I was still going to give it 3 stars but it had the dreaded leaving you for your own good trope. I would love to never encounter this tired trope ever again.

finally a book i love. i almost gave up on reading because i have read books after books that did not speak to me. i was in a massive book slump that this book pulled me out of. i enjoyed this book so much. the premise of it was spectacular and the writing of it was also very good. i loved his obsession with mia because i am a whore for tropes like this. the spice and connection and chemistry and love between them was so grand and so beautiful! i also love that this book is a standalone. i hate cliffhangers and trilogies. i’m definitely going to start the next book of this series.
