I don't think I read this at the right time which is why maybe the beginning of the book didn't hit for me as much as I expected, but I did still enjoy it but only by the 40-50% mark I would say. After that it began to pick up speed and it was more gripping for me. I also had a hard time visualizing the ending, but maybe that's just me? It wasn't as mysterious as it lead me to believe; I knew who the copy-cat was from the start:/ But the way the author was telling it, it almost seemed like she wanted it to be very easy to guess? 3.5 stars because it was gripping and I still enjoyed London and Grayson's dynamic, although a reveal relating to her wasn't as fleshed out as I think it deserved to be. I still did enjoy the author's writing style though, which increased my rating slightly.

Girl LMAOOOOOOOO, it's not the worst book ever so there's that

So I read this after Born, Darkly and let me just say, I strongly prefer book one. However, this does not negate book two of it's own charm. But I simply could not care for these characters, I'm sorry, sis is hanging over a (view spoiler) and I couldn't care less like. The scene is set and the tension is there but I seriously could not care.

There's a... shift in the writing that causes book 2 to lose the charm of book 1 and tbh I think this was the first time I did not enjoy a dual POV book. HONESTLY, this did not deserve a HEA (view spoiler). Could you imagine how delicious it would have been, if it ended right at that chapter. wow.

I will give Trisha another read before forming an opinion about her.

I certainly enjoyed this 2nd book more than the first. I had a really hard time getting into it and I personally thought I'd love the duet based on the descriptions.

I did listen to the audiobook of both and maybe that was part of it. I've listened to the male narrator before and enjoyed him and I did enjoy him in this as well. The one thing I didn't like was the trade off of chapters and narrators. I think it would have been more impactful to have him read Greyson's lines even in London's chapters and vice versa.

Overall, it wasn't my favorite, but I am still interested in the pairings. Has anyone read her Necrosis of the Mind Duet, Cruel and Malady, if so what did you think?

Hollows Row is on my list, but I'm trying to wait until the next book comes out I hate waiting after finishing books 😭😆

Oh. My. God. That's all I can say, but I'm pretty certain I'm about to read this author's entire backlog!
