Between my sobs and overall emptiness, I can’t think of another rating for this other than 5 stars. The workings of a classic, it’s dripping from the pages truly. Arguably, my favorite book I’ve ever read???

Debating on when I should re-read this… unsure if i can take the heartbreak all over again in the same month.

4.5 ⭐️. This is a retelling of Homer's "lliad" from Patroclus' viewpoint. Instead of being cousins or friends it follows the myths of Patroclus and Achilles being lovers. I love Greek mythology so I knew the story but it was SO well written and such a fresh perspective it was like learning it all over again. You don't need to know a lot about the myths or goddess/gods they're pretty well explained and there is an index in the back of the book! It truly was a joy to read!
