If you want to know what it's really like living in the country versus living in the city, trust me, you won't learn about it from a picturebook. Haha.

Yet again we have the same old image of the father reading a newspaper while the mother bustles around doing household tasks (she's in the background shopping for vegetables). However. I may be judging this very harshly. There are no real gender markings on these two characters. I would encourage adult co-readers -- since there seems to exist no instance of that gender reversal in the whole of picturebook world -- to gender the newspaper reader as the mother and the vegetable buyer as the mother.
