Audiobook. So much fun! I loved Bilbo’s grumpy attitude. So many fun adventures. I enjoyed the characters a lot. It’s easy to take Tolkien’s stories for granted because they have become household names, but reading it was magical. He’s a superior author and the words were leaping out and creating pictures in my mind. There were definitely times when it felt slow, which would be my only complaint. But I got through it.

I can understand and respect what this book did for the fantasy, but it wasn’t for me. I did more of the characters and there drama. Not a cross country adventure. Maybe if I was younger I’d have liked this more.
