Big South just sounds soooooo fine! I had to light some candles and set the mood with some of these chapters because Ms.House does not play about writing a juicy, sexy, exhilarating story. This book was the monthly read for my book club and we had so much fun discussing some of the topics that came up along the way. The character development of everyone was very natural and realistic!
From their personalities I envisioned some celebrity cameos in my head:
Jo = Keke Palmer
Bridgette = Tiffany Haddish (in a comedic way, not creepy!)
Everett/ Big South = Waka Flocka
Jo's baby daddy = Dave Chappell

If you know...you know! Strap in and get spicy, I'm ready for the rest of the series because I know those other brothers got something interesting about them too.....

I liked the story, but the writing was not my favourite. It might be because I'm not familiar at all with AAVE and how Black Americans speak in general, so many phrases went over my head and only the context clues helped.

Omg

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and you have a new fan in me. The way Everett came along and wooed her. They made each other believe in love again.

YES YES YES!

Such a beautiful love story. Love doesn’t have to be so hard but when you know you really know. Most people don’t really miss what they have until it’s gone but guess what? Eventually someone will appreciate you and love you just the way you are.
