4.5 stars. I've been getting over urban fantasy as I've gotten older because it seems too cute and pleased with itself. This one had a darker side and a really neat lore that I'm looking forward to seeing more of in the sequel. I could do without Erwin though and was unclear on his purpose in the story. Anyway this is definitely for fans of American Gods, almost too much so. All in all I kept getting sucked back in every time I got annoyed. I liked it quite a bit.

4.5. Pretty brutal. If I’d read content warnings, I wouldn’t have picked it up and that would’ve been a shame. It was great.

Weirdest book I have read in a long while, but completely my jam. The last 80 pages or so were the weakest but still a favorite.

very dark dark academia, beautiful world building and very cool idea but not everything was wrapped up, hard to enjoy it when it’s so dark and gory
