I, once again, absolutely adored another one of Ana Huang’s stories. I felt like I was able to relate to Alessandra as she really was trying to focus on herself and finding who she is without Dominic and overall she was a lovely and well written character. With Dominic, I really enjoyed seeing the character development and learning from his actions throughout the story. The only thing I wished I had been able to see more of was the flashbacks to the beginning of their relationship, it really helped tie things together so I wish we had gotten more of that.

Heartbreaking. Utterly and completely heartbreaking. Reading this felt like someone ripped my heart out of my chest, dissected it in front of me -- slowly and painfully -- and then stitched all the broken pieces back together again.
I mean, I've read enough of Ana Huang's books at this point to trust her and her devotion to Happily Ever Afters...but she made me earn it with this one. She certainly made Dominic earn it, at the very least. And let me tell you, after two books (King of Wrath and King of Pride) of seeing his and Alessandra's interactions on the sidelines, he had it coming. This book was literally 321 pages of groveling. And I loved every excruciating page...even and especially the ones that made me cry (of which there were many), which is saying something...because I don't like being sad on purpose.
Achingly beautiful. Painful in the healing. Joyful in the reconciliation. Excellent.

I was so excited for this couple's story based on the few teasing lines in the previous entry in the series, but that all went to hell with this book. I get why flashbacks may be necessary in a second chance romance, but there were so many at the beginning of this book that I lost interest precisely the moment I should've been invested. This book really cooled my interest in the series. I'm not particularly interested in any of the characters except
Dominic's brother, Roman
and another wedding guest whose name I can't remember.
